Authentication of Candidates placed via CNAES (National Commission for Higher Education Access) (step 1)

Within the deadline set for enrolment, check your ISCAC Student number, available through the Inforestudante academic platform at https://inforestudante.ipc.pt:

in the link Consult User – DGES Placements, fill in your full name or identification document number and the user (login) will be provided for authentication.
in Password you must enter the access key that DGES (Higher Education General Board) sent you in the e-mail or SMS with the results of your application.

Authentication of Applicants placed via other regimes (step 1)

Within the deadline set for enrolment, access the Inforestudante academic platform at https://inforestudante.ipc.pt  with the username and password used in the application or, if you have been placed via Special Regimes (PALOP and others), the username and password are provided in person by the Academic Management Service.

Enrolment and registration (step 2)

1. For security reasons, after logging into Inforestudante, you must change your initial access key.
2. Then click on the ‘Academic Desk’ menu under ‘Enrolment’ and fill out the mandatory survey.
3. Once you have completed the mandatory information, you will be able to generate the data for payment of the registration fee, which can be paid immediately via home banking, any ATM terminal, or PayPal.
4. Once you have paid the registration fee, you must begin the registration process for the course you have been placed in. At this stage, you will need to select the courses you wish to attend in the 2025/2026 academic year from the Course Registration menu.
5. Once your registration has been completed (sealed), you can obtain the digital multi-purpose certificate from the Documents tab (for family allowance, ADSE, and other purposes). It has the same legal validity as the paper document. We recommend printing the Enrolment Summary to attach to the multi-purpose certificate.

Once you have completed all the steps described above and ‘Sealed’ your enrolment, you will finally be an ISCAC student!

Registration in course’s timetables

Once you have completed your enrolment and registration, you must register for the class timetables available for each curricular unit by the deadline.

Issuing the student card

The student card is issued by Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) through an agreement between the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (IPC) and CGD.

After enrolment, you should contact CGD to formalise your request for a student card, which may be linked to a bank account or not, depending on your preference.

You can apply for the card in person at any Caixa Geral de Depósitos branch or online at CGD. To do so, you will need to authenticate and sign using your Digital Mobile Key. Students who do not yet have a Digital Mobile Key should apply for one as soon as possible at the autenticação.gov portal.

Students who do not opt for any of the above solutions should note that during the first week of classes there will be a CGD stand at the ISCAC premises, where they can go to apply for the card and/or clarify any questions related to the matter.

Document validation in the individual file (‘life proof’)

The validation of individual files is preferably carried out using the Digital Mobile Key (CMD).

To validate your individual file using your Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key, you must access Inforestudante and, in the General > Personal Data > Details menu, select the option ‘Update and validate data through the Gov Authentication portal’.

If you choose to validate in person, you will need to present the following documentation:

Identification document (Identity Card, Citizen Card or Passport);
Residence permit or visa – If you are a citizen of a country outside the European Union, you must present a statement issued by the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) proving legal and uninterrupted residence in Portugal for more than two years as of 1 January of the year in which you enrol at ISCAC;
Taxpayer Card – If you do not present your Citizen Card.
