Erasmus in the European Union

The 2021-2027 Erasmus+ Programme will continue to privilege the participants’ protection, health and security, and having as priorities multilingualism, the education and training internationalisation, and the qualifications and skills recognition and validation. It will keep its structure organised by actions, and its support structures will keep being focused on the same education, training, youth and sport sectors.

The new Programme (2021-2027) aims to be even more inclusive, accessible and sustainable. It seeks to reach important goals, including the support to the digital transition in the European education system and the close collaboration in the European Education Space construction. In order to reach these goals, the Erasmus+ Programme is being created in a way so that the access to the Programme’s organisations can be easier than ever.

The Erasmus+ is a European Union (EU) teaching and training programme, which fosters mobility activities (for students, lecturers and non-teaching staff) and transnational cooperation, at the Higher Education level.

The mobility under the scope of the Erasmus+ Programme is foreseen in the following types:

Studies (SMS) – a study period in a European Higher Education Institution which has an Erasmus Agreement with the IPC;
Traineeship (SMT) – a traineeship carried out in a Higher Education Institution, entity or organisation located in a EU member-state;
Erasmus Teaching Mission (STA) – a teaching mission carried out in a European Higher Education Institution which has an Erasmus Agreement with the IPC;
Staff Mission (STT) – a training period carried out in a Higher Education Institution, entity or organisation located in a EU member-state.
