The Bachelor’s Degree in General Solicitor and Administration aims to address the need for a solid technical-scientific foundation, complemented by the practical application of theoretical knowledge, taking into account the expanding role of the Solicitor in contemporary Portuguese society. It is distinctive in the national landscape, characterized by its exclusive curriculum, based on the Solicitor-Administration duality. The curriculum includes a combination of general and specific courses, as well as a set of instrumental subjects.
According to Dispatch No. 27670/2009, published in the Diário da República, II Series, No. 249, on December 28, 2009, the Bachelor’s Degree in Legal and Administrative Services, in line with the principles of the Bologna Process, has a curriculum structure with a time limit of 6 semesters, corresponding to 180 ECTS. It enables students to develop, from an intellectual, scientific, and pedagogical perspective, the organizational, formal, and material competencies required for these professionals, based on an appropriate balance between theoretical and practical knowledge.
The program aims to provide, among others, the following competencies:
• A solid and interdisciplinary education in the various thematic areas that make up the curriculum.
• To confer professional specialization that enables future graduates to practically apply the knowledge and skills acquired.
• To help establish high standards of conduct and ethics for professionals working in these areas.
• To provide foundational mental frameworks for lifelong learning in an autonomous way, fostering a productive interaction between theory and practical application, allowing them to responsibly carry out their professional activities.
• To offer a level of knowledge that enables progress to a second cycle of studies: Master’s Degree.
• To provide a level of knowledge that allows progression to advanced training: Postgraduate studies.
• To equip students with professional skills for integration into the workforce.
